In June 2023, as I wrapped up my fic Keep You Like An Oath, I decided it would be my last time writing canon era Tolkien fic. So if you've been subscribing to me on Ao3 for canon-era stuff like Shades Of Silver-Gold or my Omegaverse retelling of the Silmarillion, or my non-smutty crack series Keeping Up With The Fëanorions, I'm sorry to disappoint but this is not a thing I'm doing anymore.
As my spoons continue to dwindle with my chronic health issues being what they are - and it's only going to be downhill from here - I have to focus on the stories that spark the most joy, and I am much more excited by the relatively blank slate of Maglor in our world and all of its magical realism possibilities, than I am with writing retellings of canon, gapfillers and fix-it canon AUs. Additionally, I do not particularly enjoy the obligatory formality of canon era either, living in a world where economic inequality runs rampant - writing about royalty and splendor just reminds me of poverty and hardship, rather than being an escape from it. Your mileage may vary, but this is how my brain works. 🤷♂️
So as things stand, I will only be writing the following:
1. post-canon Silm-adjacent fic with The Squad [Maglor continuing to wander the Earth thousands of years after canon ended, encountering my OCs Anthony, Nicholas, Sören in the modern era and through different periods of history]
2. original fiction with my OCs [Anthony, Nicholas, Sören] in some combination
3. whatever the hell Corn of Eternity is
4. possible one shots for small fandoms like Father Ted, etc.
There are two other things I should note to the people who read my fic:
**With the exception of my shared universe Corn Of Eternity, which is an eternal WIP; I don't feel like retconning one or more of the guys to be transmasc, and the romance/erotica with The Squad takes a backseat in that universe to other shenanigans.
There is a possibility that I may, in the future, write one or more series that involve multiple fics, like two to four connected stories of 5-7 chapters each. I do have a couple of those sitting on my to-do list, but I'm not planning on anything that involved until after 2025 if not later.
