Galadhon, Celeborn & Galathil. November 2023.

SV: This is admittedly looking a bit like Silm Wars: Attack of the Clones, so I decided to add a geek note. Although silver hair was canonically rare among the Eldar, it was a notable feature of multiple members of Elwë | Elu Thingol’s extended family, including his great-nephew Celeborn. Considering that Celeborn, his brother Galathil, and Galathil’s daughter Nimloth all share names with various White Trees, it seems likely that they all had the rare silver or white hair, which inspired their names. And if Celeborn and Galathil both had silver hair, they probably inherited it from their father, Galadhon.

This is also why Galadhon’s father Elmo was depicted with silver hair. A younger, brown-haired version of Círdan was also shown, but Círdan was described in canon with silver hair. If that feature wasn’t the result of his (incongruous) age and was rather due to the familial trait … now there’s also a variation with silver hair (although he still doesn’t look like a centenarian, because that annoys me. 😂).
